Rema II

This is the second incarnation of the Rema calculator, a Braunschweig firm later bought by Brunsviga, and the models continuing to be produced for a few years under the Brunsviga brand, until they rationalised their calculator manufacture in 1927 with an entirely new range of machines. Compare this machine to my Brunsviga MII. The main thing that is striking about these late type Rema calculators is how all the frills and chrom from the type I have disappeared, and it looks very business-like. The other striking thing is that every example I've ever seen has either lost all its paint, or has been repainted. I have no idea what kind of painting process they used in the early 20s in the Rema factory, but clearly, it sucked.
