“The square root on the calculator”
1956Dr. Ernst-Eberhard Wilberg worked in the construction department of Brunsviga since 1931. From 1949 on, he directed the patent division until the fusion with “Olympia”. In 1956, he brought out the book “Die Quadratwurzel auf der Rechenmaschine”. He moved in 1958 to the patent division in the head office of Olympia in Wilhelmshaven.
“Leibniz' calculator and the Julius University in Helmstedt”
1977Dr. Wilberg published, before his death in 1975, three essays on the Leibniz calculator in the "Mitteilungen der Carolo-Wilhelmina", and finished a fourth one. After his death, Prof. Dr. Kuhlenkamp published them together as one part of the series "Contributions to the history of the Carolo-Wilhelmina".
BRUNSVIGA silver works medal
The medal was given to Dr.-Ing. Ernst-Eberhardt Wilberg on Sept. 1st 1958, for his 25 years with Brunsviga. It was the first anniversary that was celebrated so extensively, as was customary for the management of Olympia in Wilhelmshaven. On his request, the celebration took place in the Brunsviga calculator museum (in Factory II), for which he made many efforts after the war.On loan from Renate Wilberg-Bretnütz.
Medal of the TU Carolo-Wilhelmina in Brunswick
The medal was given to Dr. Wilberg on Aug. 31st 1958. Dr. Wilberg was the link between the practical work at Brunsviga, and the scientists at the University. He was represented for many years in the administrative board of the higher education council.On loan from Renate Wilberg-Bretnütz.
Obituary for and picture of Dr. Wilberg
Dr. Ernst-Eberhard Wilberg worked as head constructor in the development section of Brunsviga since 1933, and directed it since 1935. In 1943 he became head of the "Viga" factory, and in 1948 head of the patent department. After his retirement, he was the archivist of the Brunswick higher education coucil. Dr. Wiberg died on June 11th 1975. On the foreground of the image, his Brunsviga colleague Mr. Hoffmeister.On loan from Renate Wilberg-Bretnütz.
Letter of the directors Bremeier and Penkert
April 15th 1955In the letter, the subject is the confirmation of the resignation of the commercial director Hans-Joachim Runte. Due to differences of opinion with the president of the board of directors, his father Karl Runte, he had asked for his contract to be terminated. The handwritten note reads: "The substitute for my letter of recommendation! For 22 years of work at Brunsviga! My recommendations are my trade accounts!"
