Monroe L160

This machine was a little extra I had to buy together with the Brunsviga G. It came from the same shed, was just as dirty, and the zeroing of the carriage was blocked. It seems an early example of the L series, as the logo's are still the early decals, and not the later green plastic "Monroe". So perhaps early 1930s. I had to bend back a part in the carriage that was out of adjustment, but everything freed up and the machine works great. It's about a quarter of the weight of the earlier large models, and at some point I will photograph two of the together to compare, but the higher precision in manufacturing of parts allowed to make the machiens substantially smaller, and thus cheaper, because much less raw materials were needed. A buttons is missing, at some point I'll get around to making those. It's still dirty, but works like new. I probably need to disassemble it to clean, and then I also might come across the serial number ... I cannot find it in all the usual locations.
